Within the crater, Space School Africa rehearsed their activities which would take place in front of the media in Vredefort.
Eugene Shoemaker visited Tswaing. The crater itself was formed by an asteroid hit which threw up an impact ring (of hills) around the crater which in time has been filled by a lake with its own ecosystem.
